A female Rhipicera species beetle sits at the top of a stalk. She's not here to eat. There's no food. She's not here to sleep. Too exposed. I don't think she's here for the view. No, she's waiting for a mate.

In order to attract her beau, a gentle perfume of pheromones, guaranteed to attract any green-blooded male of the species, is wafting away from her.

And behold, a dark and slightly spotted shape with impressive antennae looms into view from downwind. Not long to wait now.
